The King of My Castle!
We are studying Daniel in Sunday School. Today was Chapter 2, where King Nebuchadnezzar has that troubling dream and orders his sorcerers and wisemen to TELL him the dream as well as interpret it. Well, our teacher Marie had my Sweet Hubby be the King! He milked it for all it was worth! I couldn't pass up a chance to share the photo!
Sorry he looks so goofy, he kept laughing! And talking. (No surprise to those who know him)
Note that his button says "World's Tallest Leprechaun". Was King Nebuchadnezzar Irish? My Hubby is not. He's 100% Finnish, Swede-Finn to be exact, but he loves wearing this button each year because he is indeed tall... 6'6".
I however am half Irish. I took my fave St Pat's button to the hospital today and pinned it on Mom's pillow: "I'm Irish-Eat Your Heart Out!" She got a kick out of that!
The best way to get rid of your enemies is God's way, by loving them. (Irish proverb)

Snowshoeing in Upstate New York!
Snow Shoeing in the Frederick Olmstead Park across the street from their house.
Doc & T & N went snow shoeing today. Here, N is not happy b/c she got "oldschool" snowshoes, not the bright orange ones that her Mommy & Daddy have. She's a little mopey.
Nana thinks she's perfect anyhow!!! Go check out T's blog for more photos: craisydaisy
Who had Who-Cakes for Dinner?
A What & A Who
What?
Looks like Spring is just around the corner!
My mom is back in the hospital, pneumonia again. On my way out to the parking lot last night I was startled by something I hadn't seen in months... BLOSSOMS! Will ya look at that? There is hope of Spring! I realize my photography skills are lacking here, but this is what happens when I whip my camera out of my purse and shove it into the middle of the limbs and click. I'm thrilled to have taken a moment to relish the possiblilites of SPRING!
WHO?
This weekend is the debut of the Dr Suess movie "Horton Hears A Who".This week one of my students told me that IHOP had some menu items to go along with the new movie. Sooooo, my 22 year old baby girl and I took ourselves to IHOP to check it out! I teach Child Development so this was a field trip since my students read Seuss books in my class and Horton sits on my desk!
So LJ ordered the Mayor's Breakfast: Green Eggs & Ham, Hash Browns and a side of Who-Cakes!!! They were quite bright and colorful, and LJ reported that they were YUMMY!
Are Who's fleas?
I didn't taste the Who-Cakes, but I stole a few bites of the Green Eggs. EXCELLENT! Perfect Scrambled Eggs Florentine! I woulda ordered just the eggs had a known.
So next field trip is to check out the new movie! Gotta wait for the grandgirlees!
Enjoy your weekend and enjoy some Green Eggs & Ham too!

Changes
SLOW changes!!!!
We have windows EVERYWHERE!
Our bedroom is good size but with a very pale paint, is stark and BRIGHT!
I count 15 expanses of naked glass that I need to cover/dress in the living/kitchen/dining area:
I've gotten started in the bedroom. Yes the blinds offer some privacy, but I want to see the water!!! (written in a true whiney tone) So we found some $5 sheers at Big Lots (a great place to start!) and the glare has softened some, but the windows still seem bare. I am searching. I spent over an hour on jcp.com yesterday and found some that weren't going to set me back $1000 by the time I bought enough. BUT BY THE TIME I CHECKED OUT, they were "out of stock" Grrrrrrr!
So the windows look the same as above. Notice the tape around the windows? I painted the bedroom on a snow day, a nice warm tan, I think the name is coffee or mocha or something that would smell good in the morning. I still haven't gotten the edges trimmed in, I'm not tall enough and the ladder we have doesn't go that high. Sigh
We moved in here using some of my mom's furniture. Some of it is her late husband's. This table can seat 8-10 with the leaves in! I've never had a dining area roomy enough for a table that expands that much before.
Shortly after we moved in I saw some great chairs someone had posted on GI. I snapped them up at overstock.com. I plan to make covers in white canvas for summer! They are nice and sturdy and comfortable. I love the whimsy of the upholstery.
And we bought a new bed, also at overstock.com. A real, grown up bed.
